“15 years ago today the United States experienced a horrific attack. When the unimaginable happened it splintered our sense of comfort and safety. None of us will ever forget where we were and the shock we felt is ingrained in our collective DNA.

But out of the ashes of the fallen buildings and burning fields, we rose up and stood united. We comforted those in need and demanded that hope beat hatred and resilience defeat fear.

Together, we built stronger and safer communities for our families and now we know that nothing can destroy the ideals on which this country was built.

Today we join the rest of the country in honoring the thousands of people who lost their lives, praising the valiant first responders who put their lives on the line, and consoling the families and communities who sacrificed so much.”
