With The Health Care Vote Delayed, Corker And Alexander Must Face Tennesseans

The Senators have held no public events on health care

Nashville, Tenn. (June 27, 2017) –

Leader Mitch McConnell announced today that the vote on the repeal of the Affordable Care Act will be postponed until after the July 4th recess. To date, Senator Alexander and Senator Corker have not held any town hall meetings on health care to hear from Tennesseans.

“Senator Corker and Senator Alexander have abdicated their responsibility to be accessible to their constituents. Every person in Tennessee will be impacted by this legislation. Tennesseans deserve an open meeting with their senators to make their voices heard and this recess gives them the perfect opportunity to hear from voters,” said Mary Mancini, chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party, “What are they waiting for?”
