TNDP Chair Statement On Diane Black Announcement for Governor
The last thing Tennessee needs is more corruption
Nashville, Tenn. (August 2, 2017) – Mary Mancini, chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party, released the following statement regarding Diane Black’s announcement that she is running for Governor of Tennessee.
“Today, Congresswoman Diane Black announced that she wants to leave Washington and come back to Tennessee to be Governor. When Diane Black was last in Tennessee as a state senator, the stench of corruption swirled around her. Even a Tennessee judge ruled that the allegations she directed millions in no-bid contracts to her husband’s drug-testing company, Aegis, were “substantially true.” In light of this announcement, the question Tennesseans should be asking themselves today is, “do you want more corruption in Tennessee government or less?”
