TNDP Chair Statement on President Trump’s Praise of Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists

Tennessee Republicans must choose sides
Nashville, Tenn. (August 15, 2017) – Mary Mancini, chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party, released the following statement on President Trump’s press conference on Charlottesville:
“Tennessee Republicans have a choice to make, stand by and watch our country get torn apart, or show some moral leadership and stand up for all Tennesseans. With his words today, President Trump clearly stated that he sees nothing wrong with White Supremacists and Neo-Nazis, calling them ‘fine people.’ All who showed up to the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville were on the wrong side, period, full stop. Senator Corker, Senator Alexander and every Tennessee Republican member of congress need to decide if they stand with the President and white supremacists or if they stand for the people of Tennessee .”
