The Republican gubernatorial candidate is

astonishingly out of touch

Tennessee (October 25, 2017) – Appearing on Fox Business today, Rep. Diane Black wasn’t sure if a million dollars made a person rich. She then went on to ask if $10 million was rich, or even if $1 billion was rich.

“This comment from Rep. Black shows just how far out of touch she is with regular people. Half of the state of Tennessee earns less than $49,000 a year, and she doesn’t know if a millionaire is rich. She wants to be governor, but how can she have our backs if she doesn’t understand the economics of putting food on the table? It is astonishing really,” said Mary Mancini, Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party

Tennessee has an estimated median household income of $48,547. For individuals, the number drops to $24,732.
