Safe and sturdy roads and bridge are a core function of responsible government

Tennessee (November 7, 2017) – The Shoal Creek Falls Bridge in Signal Mountain is in such disrepair that school buses are not allowed to drive across it. Students have to get out and walk the rest of the way home. In response, Mary Mancini, Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party released the following statement:

“Democracy is built to protect and invest in everyone with public resources. The Tennessee state government has a moral duty to protect and invest in the people of Signal Mountain with safe and sturdy bridges and roads, which are the bedrock for living safely in our communities and growing successful businesses. No mother should have to worry about her child returning home safely from school.”
