A Brighter Future for Tennessee: Our Vision

What Tennessee could look like with more Democrats in office

May 10, 2018 (NASHVILLE, Tenn.) — After the Tennessee legislature wrapped up the 110th General Assembly last month, and as the midterm election cycle heats up, the Tennessee Democratic Party announced today its vision for the future of the Volunteer State.

“Years of leadership under Republicans has held our state back, and we know that Tennesseans deserve better,” said Tennessee Democratic Party Chair Mary Mancini. “But what does ‘better’ look like? It looks like a state where our public education system is robust, and provides a safe and 21st-century education for our children. It looks like a state where all people — regardless of your zip code — can access a high-quality medical facility near your home and receive treatment that won’t bankrupt you. It means being able to thrive — not just survive — because you have a good-paying job that allows you to live a full and productive life. That’s what we envision for all Tennesseans. That’s what we can do together when we elect more Democrats this November.”

Tennessee Democrats believe that no matter who you are, what you look like, or where you live, you deserve the opportunity to create a better life for you and your family. Visit tndp.org/abrighterfuture to learn more.
