Tennesseans Celebrate Health Care Day of Service

Across the state, Tennesseans took time out of their Saturday to serve their communities and join the call for health care reform. Read some of the reports after the jump, or share your own experience in the comments.
The Chattanoogan (Staff) “Health Food Bank Drive Is Saturday”: Organizing for America and the Hamilton County Democratic Party are joining over 20 events statewide and hundreds nationwide in the National Health Care Day of Service. The Chattanooga group is hosting a Healthy Food Bank Drive to highlight President Obama’s health care reform principles that call on congress for health care reform that reduces costs for family, businesses, and government; protects the choice of doctors and insurers; and assures affordable, quality health care for all Americans. President Obama’s approach to health care reform prioritizes prevention. The Healthy Food Bank Drive brings people healthy food, encouraging good nutrition and wellness in the community.

Thousands of these events were held by volunteers to highlight the urgent need for health care reform this year.
