Gaining Momentum, DCCC Names Tenn. Fourth Congressional “Emerging Race”

Eric Stewart, candidate for Congress in Tennessee's Fourth District

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) announced today that state Sen. Eric Stewart (D-Belvidere) has been placed on the Emerging Races list in his campaign for Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District.

The DCCC recognized Stewart’s campaign for increasingly making this race competitive by meeting infrastructure and organizational goals and beginning to make the case to voters that he is a problem-solver who will protect working families in Tennessee.

“This is another sign of momentum for our campaign that shows we’re competitive and have strong grassroots support,” said Stewart. “We are continuing to build our organization, our fundraising network and communicate our message of taking courage, common sense and cooperation to Washington. Folks are tired of business as usual, and we will change that by aggressively focusing on job creation and standing up for working families.”

Emerging Races highlights Democratic candidates and districts that are making themselves competitive by running smart campaigns which are becoming increasingly competitive.

Editor’s note: In being named to the first round of Red to Blue candidates, Eric Stewart’s national profile is on the rise. These are the top races in the country that will help us to win a House Democratic Majority. Stewart is the only candidate named in the South as well, which means this could be the most high profile races in the entire region.

Let’s Eric get to Congress. Chip in at:
