Romney putting politics before country
It has become increasingly apparent that Mitt Romney would rather let the American economy fail in order to win election than for Americans to prosper. According to reports, Romney has urged Florida Governor Rick Scott to downplay the economic progress that has been made in his state because it undermines the great fiction that is the foundation of Romney’s campaign: that he would be a better steward of the economy than President Obama.
Mitt Romney’s campaign is putting a lot of Republican governors in a tough position as the economy continues to improve, gas prices go down, and Americans are going back to work. They can’t continue to claim that the president has failed on the economy, while their own economies are beginning to thrive thanks to the policies put in place by President Obama –policies that have increased American energy production to record levels and have helped businesses create 4.3 million jobs in the last 27 months.
The economy would be improving even more if it were not for the obstructionist tactics of Republicans in Congress and the investment slashing tactics State Legislatures.
In Tennessee, Congressman Scott DesJarlias bragged that he was proud to be part of a “do nothing Congress.” In spite of these efforts to block the President’s jobs plan for partisan gain, we’ve seen some critical improvements, especially in the private sector, because of Obama’s leadership.
Our politicians should be more concerned about the American people than winning elections.
