Knoxville News Sentinel Endorses Gloria Johnson for State House
The Knoxville News Sentinel could not have picked a better candidate to represent our state for House District 13:
Some Republican incumbents are facing stiff challenges from Democrats, who have fielded a strong lineup this year that presents voters with real choices, a development that is good for democracy in Knox County.
In the 13th District, Gloria Johnson is the best choice to succeed fellow Democrat Harry Tindell, who is stepping down.
A special education teacher, Johnson would take to Nashville an intimate knowledge of education issues and political savvy born of her stint as chairwoman of the Knox County Democratic Party. Johnson emphasizes the link between investing in education and attracting good jobs.
