TNDP Releases Video Highlighting DesJarlais’ Disqualifying, Sex-with-Patient Scandal

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Democratic Party released Friday a web video hammering Congressman Scott Desjarlais for the doctor-patient sex scandal embroiling his floundering campaign.

“Scott DesJarlais said he was for our families, but his actions show he’s only for himself,” said Chip Forrester, Chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party. “Desjarlais hasn’t been truthful with Tennessee voters about who he really is and it’s time voters hold him accountable for his lies, deceit and hypocrisy.”

Recent polling indicates that voters in Tennessee’s fourth congressional district are repulsed by the revelation that Desjarlais, a doctor, had a sexual relationship with a patient — a breach of her trust and a clear violation of the medical code of ethics. Republican Party bosses have said they’ll stand by the philandering doctor.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has announced that because of the closing poll numbers and voter disgust over Scott DesJarlais, they have moved Sen. Eric Stewart into their “Red to Blue” column, meaning this is one of the best chances for a Democratic pickup in the country.
