Amanda Yanchury is Communications Director for the Tennessee Democratic Party. Hailing from the North Star State (Minnesota) originally, Amanda has spent time in San Diego and Boston during her career as a nonprofit communicator and marketing consultant.

Having received her degree in Political Science from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, Amanda first caught the political bug in 2007 during an internship with Iowans for Hillary in the lead up to the 2008 presidential caucuses. She has also interned with Congresswoman Betty McCollum (D-MN) as well as worked with the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party as an organizer.

In 2014, Amanda earned her Master of Arts in Strategic Communication Management from Concordia University, St. Paul. Working most recently for an environmental NGO, Amanda discovered her professional sweet spot is in advocacy communications — seeking to do the most good through her work.

With family in the greater Nashville area, Amanda was excited to make the Volunteer State her home. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring East Nashville, running, and spending too much time on Twitter.

Amanda draws political inspiration from these heroes:

And that is truly remarkable.”
