NASHVILLE— Following a strong election night for Democrats across the country, Tennessee is poised to carry the momentum forward as the final congressional race of the year takes place in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District on December 2 where Aftyn Behn is running to feed kids, fix roads, and fund hospitals. Across the map, Democrats put up strong candidates and drove turnout by centering working families and affordability in Georgia, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, New York, Virginia, and many more.
“Last night’s results are clear: Democrats are winning because we’re focused on the real issues that families are facing, like the cost of housing, groceries, child care, prescription drugs, and utility bills. And Tennessee is next. While Donald Trump and Republicans blame, divide, and shut down the government, Democrats are showing up and delivering. And now, we have the chance to send Aftyn Behn to Congress to keep that fight going right here at home. Voters are tired of broken promises and political theater. They are choosing candidates who are actually fighting to make life more affordable and they see that Democrats are the ones doing the work. This is our chance to show the country that Tennessee has something to say. We’re organizing, we’re energized, and we’re just getting started,” said Rachel Campbell, Chair of the Tennessee Democratic Party.
