Our farms feed our families, our rivers and dams power our homes, our schools prepare the next generation to take our place at the helm. Every Tennessean should have pride in our state.
Tennessee is the rich and vibrant cultural hub of the South. The birthplace of the blues, country music, and rock n’ roll. Those who came before us laid the groundwork for what became the artistic heartbeat of our nation, of our people.
We strive to represent everyone, but not all folks are easy to reach.Â

In the days of the New Deal, the Tennessee Valley Authority helped electrify the South. Democratic programs provided jobs to millions who were hit hard by the Great Depression. Back then, the party had the backs of the working people of our state.
As Democrats, we need to change the conversation. We cannot answer pain with more pain. We must answer pain with compassion. We must uplift our unions in their fight to ensure that workplaces across our state are bastions of safety and equality. We must grant a voice to our rural communities who have felt unheard for far too long.
We have the duty to serve the needs, the interests, and the livelihoods of all folks who live here. Not only do we need to have their best interests at heart, we have the moral obligation to fight for them.
We abide by the doctrine of good sense.
Statewide, our friends, our neighbors, our coworkers – they are all dealing with the stress of a rapidly changing country, and leaders who have failed to hear their cries for help. That changes now.
