The Tennessee Democratic Party has launched its statewide Voter Protection Program to help ensure every eligible Tennessee voter can participate in the 2026 General Election.

With support from Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s Ready PAC, we’re building voter protection infrastructure across all 95 counties, including trained volunteers, polling information, voter assistance, real-time issue documentation, and a statewide response system.

With increased federal agency activity and growing concerns around access to the ballot, we’re preparing now to make sure Tennesseans have the information and support they need. 

The program will be led by the Tennessee Democratic Party’s new Statewide Director of Voter Protection, Clay Capp, the Metropolitan Nashville District 6 Councilmember, who was most recently the Executive Director of Davidson County Democratic Party, formerly with the Metro Nashville Public Defender’s Office, and former Legal Director for the Tennessee Justice Center.
