NASHVILLE — Today, The Tennessee General Assembly has adjourned sine die, marking the end of Tennessee’s legislative session. As Tennesseans continue to face record high costs for groceries, gas, housing, and healthcare, the close of session comes amid ongoing concerns about affordability and the need for policies that address the day-to-day economic challenges facing Tennessee families across the state.

“In the face of a Republican supermajority, Tennessee Democrats stayed united and fought for working families every step of the way. Our Tennessee House and Senate Democratic Caucuses showed up every day fighting to make life more affordable, strengthen our public schools, and build an economy that actually works for working families. Meanwhile, Tennessee Republicans made it clear who they serve. Not you. Not Tennessee families, but the special interests, extremists in the White House, and corporate mega-donors who rely on them. They have left our families behind and Tennesseans are fed up having to pay the price. They see it and they feel it. That is why we are launching statewide programming to organize across this state to hold them accountable and build the power it takes to win. Our vision remains clear: when we organize everywhere, we can compete and win anywhere. And in November, we’ll send them packing.”
