Teri is a life-long Democrat. As a teenager, she supported Democratic Senator George McGovern’s campaign for U.S. President in 1972 by handing out flyers. She says, “I was too young to vote, but not too young to have an opinion!” Since then, Teri has learned to use her voice, professionally and as a private citizen, to advocate for fairness, accountability and transparency. She promotes strong public education, common sense gun legislation, women’s reproductive rights and free and fair elections. Above all, she strongly believes legislators are elected to work for their constituents, not special interest groups or super-PACs.
